CHARLOTTE SEAR
Art Biography
Bold vibrant colors combined with a strong geometric sensibility dominate much of Charlotte Sear’s work. Over the years Ms. Sear has developed a unique flat-perspective style. In many of her paintings she translates momentary encounters with life into an inventive narrative in visual form. This magical interpretation of events allows for a highly individualized vision of the world. Her use of color and form enhances the mood and emotional content of each of her works. One of her continuing sources of inspiration has been the images of rural and town life of Columbia County. In rich exciting colors, her paintings depict a fantasy interpretation of a world that is fading away. Columbia County is well represented in Gallery 4.
Ms. Sear’s prize-winning work has been sold in museums and galleries and is exhibited in juried shows, galleries, libraries and academic settings.
